James Yap, unwed father?
By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan

WHY James Yap was so silent all these days in spite of Kris Aquino's public disclosure about their planned marriage?

Reliable sources said Yap was apprehensive to go on public and admit his relationship with Kris because he's afraid that his private life will be dragged in public.

Sources said that Yap is considered to be an "unwed" father with two kids.

Sources revealed that Yap has a former fiancée whom he allegedly impregnated during his teenage years when he was still one of the ace players of the University of the East in Manila.

The girl, however, opted not to marry Yap as she also understood the cager's situation being at the peak of his career.

Yap is now one of the power forwards of team Purefoods Hotdogs at Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Sources said that Yap had already told Kris regarding this matter. But for Kris it is not a problem because Yap is not married yet to anyone.

Before Kris' interview at the Buzz on Sunday, sources said Yap told her not to divulge this secret since he is not yet ready to face and handle showbiz intrigues.

Yap is a native of Escalante City in northern Negros.

His family owns a chain of businesses in Negros including the Yap port in Escalante.

He was first discovered while playing at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School by the Negros Basketball Association.

However, Yap transferred to the Iloilo Central Commercial High School where he graduated from his secondary course as a basketball varsity player.

In college, Yap joined the team of the University of the East (UE) Warriors where he also made his niche in basketball by earning the title of Most Valuable Player of the United Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Kris, in an interview with the Buzz, called on all those who have supported her through the years to support her decision to marry Yap whom she "loves and trusts", and "who respects her".

The famous television host of the popular game show "Game Ka Na Ba?" also disclosed that she and Yap have already applied for a marriage license to be taken on June 10 and is renewable within 120 days or four months.
