Panasonic keglers reign in K of C bowling opener
PANASONIC took the curtain raiser of the Knight of Columbus Council 5665 open Bowling Championship at the New Top's Millenium Plaza in Bacolod City recently.
In taking the opening round, the Tina Alagaban-led Panasonic pinshooters posted a three-game collection of 1,643 pinfalls.
Actually, it was Chebong Be's SR Navistar pincrushers who got the No.1 spot with 1,700. Navistar, however, backed-out due to misunderstanding with the tournament committee on implementing rules and regulations before the start of the second round, Friday.
Sharp and LJP Trading/Tough Trucks NPBC placed second and third with 1,567 and 1,567, respectively.
Davies Make A Change has 1,562; Barangay I/Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Incorporated, 1,545; Forever Knights, 1,515; Janaqua Active ASSFBI 2, 1,512; Double B/Engkee Refrigeration, 1,496, and K of C, 1,476.
In the team captains opening three balls contest, Tony Cacho of Sharp won over Hernand Garciniego of the Negros Professional Bowlers Club/LJP.
Cacho, Garciniego, and Rey Bala-an of Make A Change were the first round winners. However, Bala-an was eliminated after making eight pinfalls only in the bonus throw, leaving the two other participants garnering a perfect 10 each.
In the ensuing three balls contest, Cacho prevailed over the NPBC bet.
Meanwhile, Sharp Philippines announced that everything is ready for their hosting of the forthcoming "Masskara Invitational Trio Bowling Tournament" in October.
Sharp Branch Head Irnie Diaz, said the top five winners will win as much as P50,000 worth of gift certificates.
It will be a three-day competition consisting of eight games only. Registration is free.
