83-year-old woman killed by grandson
By Ryan B. Lachica

AN 83-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her grandson inside her house Monday afternoon.

Rosalina Buslay, of Purok 1, Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City, sustained 15 stab wounds according to the autopsy report allegedly inflicted by her grandson, Herman Busla, 25.

She had several stab wounds in the back, one of which punctured her throat. Another was in the leg.

Herman, was allegedly under the influence of a volatile substance, rugby, when he committed the crime.

Case investigator SPO1 Ramon Señoron said that the victim was watching a television show at the sala of her house when without provocation she was stabbed by the suspect.

The suspect's main target, Señoron said, was his brother but when he could not locate the latter in the house he diverted his attention to his grandmother instead.

The suspect tried to escape after the incident but the operatives of Police Precinct 5 and the 603rd Regional Mobile Group (RMG) were able to trace him.

He was nabbed inside a sugarcane plantation near the scene of the crime after hours of search.

The operatives also recovered from the suspect a 13-inch stainless steel knife believed to be the weapon used in the crime.

The suspect is presently detained at Police Precinct 5. Appropriate charges will be filed against him.
