Boy steals church collection, nabbed By Ma. Ella L. Dapiton
IT SEEMS true that some children nowadays have no qualms in victimizing familiar structures - even the church, the very house of God.
This, because even the cash collection from the daily masses at the Queen of Peace Church at Hilado Street, Bacolod City was stolen.
The heist was discovered only on January 9 at around 5:45 p.m.
The church's security guard, however, identified and immediately arrested the suspect, a 12-year-old boy from Hilado extension, Barangay Villamonte also in Bacolod.
The amount taken was not disclosed as of press time.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was also collared at the Grocery Section of Robinsons Mall Monday night for allegedly stealing imported chocolates.
Rogelio Portillo Torres, 20, resident of Kahirup A, Barangay Mansilingan was indorsed to Police Precinct 3 in Mandalagan area after being caught by the store's watchmen stealing the items.
In another report, the stolen cash vault from Pizza Hut Parlor at the Robinsons Mall was found 8:45 p.m. in a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda Katumbal, Barangay San Jose, E.B. Magalona Tuesday.
EB Magalona Police chief Senior Inspector Santiago Rapiz, however, said the cash vault has already been destroyed, the money inside already taken out.
The vault, according to police report from Police Precinct 3 in Bacolod contained a total amount of P30,000.
The incident was only discovered 7 a.m. Monday.
