3 persons in 1 motorcycle banned
CITY Police Director Senior Superintendent Pedro Merced ordered Friday that three persons riding a motorcycle will no longer be allowed in the city.
Merced said this is to pre-empt the reoccurrence of robbery-hold-up cases in the city involving motorcycle-riding robbers.
Merced said, "Up to two persons only are now allowed to ride a motorcycle."
With this order, Merced also instructed all his precinct commanders to set up check and choke points in all strategic places in the city day and night.
Motorists are advised to adhere with the present police operation in Bacolod.
The same order is presently being implemented in all towns and cities in the province as ordered of Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Charles Calima Jr.
Calima's move is in support to the BCPO's present campaign.
Last night, an Army soldier from 11th Infantry Battalion in La Granja, La Carlota City was apprehended in a checkpoint near Police Precinct 6 at Barangay Taculing.
Recovered from Sergeant Jonathan Dumusdos was a hand grenade. He has no permit to show to the police that he is allowed to carry such explosive.
The soldier was later held at PP6 for interrogation.
In Valladolid town, a red Mazda pick-up with plate number FVJ-844 was also intercepted after its driver Pepito Ilusorio failed to notice the checkpoint set up by the operatives at Pontevedra town.
A certain Socorro Cuadra of Bacolod is the owner of the car.
No illegal materials were discovered inside the car, which is contrary to a report earlier received by the police, said Pontevedra Police chief Inspector Mary Rose Gaspillo.
Police later released Cuadra and Ilusorio. (EASD)
