Artist arrives Friday for budol-budol probe
A CARTOGRAPHIC sketch artist from Cebu is due to arrive Friday to help the police in its investigation on the alleged loss of about P3 million cash and pieces of jewelry to two Budol-Budol gang members.
Police Precinct 4 Chief Ulysses Ortiz said they have requested the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation in drawing the sketches of the suspects.
Earlier, lawyer and civic leader Luz Dato Lacson lost about P3 million to two Budol-budol gang members.
Lacson narrated that she had just finished purchasing household items when she was befriended by two Tagalog-speaking men near a gas station in Barangay 19, Bacolod City.
The men, who claimed they were investors, then persuaded her to withdraw money from the bank and pieces of jewelry, which were kept in a safety deposit box.
Ortiz said the sketches drawn by the artist would then be sent to the Investigation bureau for a coordinated effort at solving the crime.
Bacolod City Police Office Director Pedro Merced gave some advice on how to prevent this kind of problem with Budol-Budol.
These are: do not be enticed with promises, do not rely on anybody nor trust strangers, and do not entertain strangers.
"The Budol-Budol gang will make you really believe. They will entice you, make you get your luxuries and give it to them," Merced added.
As of Thursday, no suspect has been arrested by the police although Ortiz was quoted as saying that his unit already have a suspect in mind. (CSG) |
