28 join monthly Panasonic Darts tourney By Henry C. Villalva
A total of 28 darters representing various darts clubs in the province competed in the recently concluded regular monthly darts tournament for the month of April organized by the Association of Negros Darters and Dart Clubs (ANDDC) and sponsored by Panasonic held at the Tops Millennium Plaza last April 29.
The event contested was the Classified Draw Doubles Tournament and the mode of play was 501 Best of 3, according to ANDDC vice president and Baciwa darts coordinator Gino Amantillo.
The tandem of Silay City's Rommel Bagotayao and George Macariola of Manhole Darts Club-Talisay City topped the April edition of the monthly competition besting the duo of barangay Taculing's Melvin Adeva and Biboy Dalpatan of Silay City who settled for first runner-up honors.
Third place went to Edgar Escalana of Manhole-Bacolod and Ion Rodriguez of Silay city while fourth place was captured by the tandem of Marijoe Jamili and Erik Pilpil of Manhole-Bacolod. Joint 5th and 6th places were shared by the duo of Manhole-Bacolod's Robert Vasquez and Silay City's Pato Apuhin and the Silay City tandem of Diutay Divinagracia and Donon Delfin.
Joint 7th and 8th places were grabbed by James Colinco of Manhole-Bacolod and Baciwa's Meloy Pechera and Silay City's Noel Lacson and Mark Monfort of Manhole-Bacolod.
Cash prize and trophy was awarded to the champion tandem while competition for the month of May is set on May 27 also at the New Tops Millennium Plaza, according to Amantillo.
Meanwhile, Manhole Darts club recently elected its new set of officers for the darting year May 2006 to April 2007 at Manhole Bar and Darts House along Burgos Street, Bacolod City.
Elected president was James Colinco of Appliance Center Centrum with Edgar Escalana of Barangay Montevista as vice president and Erik Pilpil of Bacolod Fire Department as secretary/treasurer. Elected as members of the board of directors are Marijoe Jamili of Manhole Darts House, George Macariola of Talisay, Jingjing Faisan of Talisay and nurse Bernard Criador of Bacolod City.
Manhole Darts House also announced the results of the regular doubles tournament held last April 27 with the duo of Edgar Escalana and Jingjing Faisan emerging as champion followed by the tandem of Rommel Bagotayao and James Colinco in second place; George Macariola and Janby Jimera, third place; Samson Bravo and Dindo Delfin, fourth; Robert Vasquez and German dela Cruz/Melchor Rufin and Melvin Adeva, joint 5th and 6th place; and Edwin Millan and Marijoe Jamili, 7th place.
