I want all Filipinos to unite: Pacman By Henry C. Villalva
IF THERE'S anything Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao wants for his country at this point in his life and in his career as a professional boxer, it's simply to be able to see the Philippines on the road to progress with all Filipinos united.
This as Pacquiao stressed, "My dream is to see all Filipinos united in making our nation move forward and I believe this is my role as a boxing champion."
Pacquiao, an adopted son of Bacolod was in the City the other day.
He also said that he was not pressured to be at the Batasang Pambansa during the State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
"It's not true. No one pressured me. When I say good things about the President or the government no one tells me to do it. It's my own decision to speak and I speak from what I observe," Pacquiao emphasized.
He also took time to thank the people of Bacolod and all the Negrenses for their hospitality and support to him.
"I just want to thank all the people of Bacolod for their support and for your hospitality here in your beautiful City of Smiles."
