Murder plaint to be filed v. 5 in Ilog shoot-out
By Erwin Ambo s. Delilan

THE Ilog Police Station will file a complaint Monday for murder against the persons tagged as suspects in the killing of businessman Jose Benny Villaluz in Sitio Punta Silay, Barangay 1-Poblacion, Ilog, Thursday morning last week.

Inspector Gary Allan Resuma, Ilog Police Office chief, said the complaint would be lodged before the Negros Occidental Prosecutor's Office at the Hall of Justice in Bacolod City.

To be named respondents are Ernesto Buyayot Sr. and son Ernesto Jr. and two others whose names are being withheld by the Ilog Police pending a manhunt operation.

Also named respondent is Villaluz's younger sister, Rosalie Villaluz-Llesas, who is tagged as a "mastermind" in the killing of her elder brother.

Resuma said the motive for the killing could be that of a property dispute between the 12 Villaluz siblings, which started when the victim allegedly transferred the title of the family's 6-hectare fishpond property under the name of his wife Consolacion.

Villaluz-Llesas earlier denied any involvement in the killing and has hired lawyer Maphilindo Polvora to defend her in court.

The Buyayots, on the other hand, are now detained at the Ilog Police Office detention cell.

Aside from murder, the Ilog Police also filed a complaint for frustrated homicide Friday against the same suspects except for Villaluz-Llesas.

This stemmed from the near-killing of PO3 Edwin Fernandez and William Villaluz, a nephew of the slain businessman Jose Benny Villaluz.

The younger Buyayot was also accused of illegal possession of firearms after policemen recovered several ammunition of caliber .38 revolver from his possession when collared an hour after the incident occurred.
