Arinday: Molecules of thoughts
By G.H. Arinday, Jr.
Sunfare

1. The cell of contemplation is now replaced by the dungeon of the demons. Man is only necessary to himself and to relieve himself of all anxieties is to conform to everything even from his own demons.

Arroyo Watch: Sun.Star blog on President Arroyo

The catholicity of desire for peace and mutual understanding is as elusive as the search for the Holy Grail; once it is found, the Universe shall erupt on its spinning top from whence the Omniscient One shall issue his edict for those deserving of the Paradise Regained.

2. Between the rulers and the governed, there is always the element of unknowable, thus accommodating the different species of dissenters, including the clowns. In politics, there is always the autumnal thinking, a phase where one could not take possession of himself and merely watches the proceedings, his existence of non-being.

The claim of some leaders of the profundity of their minds and their gifts of gab are merely gales whipping up the water from a murky source. The syllabic structure of their speeches is utterance from an empty voice box.

3. The person who has squandered all the opportunities given him loses his persona like a tree, which could bear no fruit.

By wasting his nutritive soul, his rationality is left within the cells of an asylum for the mentally deranged. His liberation comes only when all the demons are vanquished. There are times when the legislative halls approximate the menagerie where the lower species of living creatures would engage in cacophonous concerto of the mundane.

4. Until now I don't understand the parable-like poem of D.H. Lawrence when he advocated "to abolish the working class forever and have a world of men". Does the poet-novelist instruct us to look at the universal mirrors where one's aura may or may not appear encasing the Self?

What a paradox that Man and Woman created in Eden when the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge spelled disaster to humanity!

5. Perhaps, closer to our political predicament today was what happened to a great English poet and politician Lord Francis Bacon. He was described as a man without moral scruples but overly ambitious in his political power and captured eventually the Lord Chancellorship. But later he was impeached! And yet by reason of the fickleness of Time and Judgment, posthumously he was considered a child of "the humanist Renaissance" and honored as one possessed of advanced remarkable ideas in all intellectual history.

His great works like the concatenation of the stars in Heaven instructed humanity to secure "new mastery over their environment". That was four centuries ago! The rebirth of such incandescence of brilliancy was reborn in the mid-twentieth century in the beautiful mind of Teilhard de Chardin's "The Phenomenon of Man".

His poetic dissertation was to reconcile Christian theology with the scientific theory of evolution in the tradition of Jewish intellectual thrust. And like Lord Francis Bacon, the great thinker was condemned by the Church because of penetrating analysis of the relationship between science and religion. But, a strange thing took place after a long period of his alienation from the Church and he was redeemed!
