Nilles: Engineer Belleza knows the truth By Giovanni A. Nilles Open Sentence
THE express manner by which Engineer Julio Belleza was terminated from his post at the City Engineer's Office is just as smelly as the cement scam itself. It is not only poor attempt at covering an ugly maneuver by some people who are so close to the mayor, it can also blow right before their faces. This paper reported a source who said that Engr. Belleza was a mere sacrificial lamb in all these. This man too is in the know and will be able to talk at length on how the cement supply can be made to disappear from the engineering office and how the
proceeds can go to the pocket of some.
Belleza has not started talking. But when he opens his mouth, those who painted a bad
image against his person must be fully prepared for his words can also drag them, including the mayor, down the drain.
For one, hauling 200 bags of cement to a private warehouse takes more than paper works. It takes the word of someone so powerful that he is feared in some government offices.
Now that Belleza stands to lose his career and his very own dignity, the least he can do is to show to the world that he is not acting alone and on his own. He must now make the expose himself and turn the ball against those who wrecked and threw havoc on his life and that of his family.
It is incumbent upon him to speak of the truth and nothing else but the truth behind the scams that have been pulled at the office that he once served. There are a few more people who can attest to the shenanigans that have been conducted at the engineering office for quite a time.
This office has not only been an implementor of some infrastructure projects in the city, it has also become a milking cow to some.
Attempts to settle Belleza's termination with a financial promise maybe made to save the skins of a few people at the City Hall.
But then what is money when all your dignity is lost and gone forever? There is a chance for Belleza to redeem his honor if not for himsel, then for his children. Will Belleza be hero enough to stand up?
