LA Showtime cagers vs USLS Stingers today
LOCAL basketball fans will once again have the opportunity to watch visiting cagers show their stuff on the hardcourt when the LA Showtime Basketball Team composed of Filipino-American players tangle against the University of St. La Salle Stingers Monday, 9:00 a.m. at the USLS College covered court.
The goodwill game is open to the public for free. The visiting squad arrived yesterday from Iloilo where they also played goodwill matches.
Upon their arrival here yesterday the team made a courtesy call on Bacolod City Rep. Monico Puentevella, former chair of the congressional committee on Youth and Sports and currently the first vice-president of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).
The team, with the smallest member standing 6'2" and the tallest at 6'5", is composed of: Brian Justin Mallo, Joshua Vincent Cubillo, Mark Gopilan, Presley Belleni, Lance Anthony Convento, Jason Escueta, Kevin Justin Herrera, richard Cole, Ryan Reyes, Willian Scott Domingo and Michael Custodio.
Head coach of the team is Romeo Convento and delegation heads are Gene Mallo and Connie Mallo.
Team coordinator is Tanny Gonzales of Lyceum of the Philippines.
The team's goodwill games in the country are being coordinated by Gonzales while in Bacolod City the visit of the squad is being coordinated by Roger Banzuela and Malot Lozada of the University of St. La Salle varsity sports office.(HCV)
