Police official denies involvement in aunt's drug trade
POLICE Inspector Abdullah Magarang denied any involvement in the alleged drug trade of his aunt Hadja Alea Macapar Urangutan.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) Director Rosendo Franco, said that Magarang has already explained that although Urangutan lives in their house at Celine Homes Subdivision in Fortune Towne, Bacolod City, they have separate doors.
Franco also denied allegation that Magarang failed to report at the Noppo Headquarters after Urangotan was arrested by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) last week.
"Magarang is still reporting and in fact, he's already retiring," said Franco.
Earlier, PDEA-Negros Occidental head, Inspector Joemarie Occeño, said they are probing whether Magarang is involved in Urangutan's illegal transactions.
Urangutan was nabbed in a buy-bust operation while waiting for a passenger jeepney near the guard house of Celine Subdivision Wednesday last week.
Taken from her possession were assorted packs of suspected shabu weighing about 10.93 grams.
Charges for violation of Sections 5 (buy-bust) and 11 (possession) of the RA 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act have been filed in court Friday last week. (EASD)
