Silver MassKara Foundation distances from 'Perya' war
By Roberto L. Bacasong

THE MassKara Foundation has nothing to do with the conflict between two carnival operators at the reclamation area.

So clarified MassKara Festival Site Management chief Sonia Verdeflor Thursday.

Sun.Star Network Online coverage on journalist Marlene Esperat's murder case

She said the Foundation entered into a memorandum of agreement with Veron Carnival sometime in September this year.

The area given to Veron is worth P600,000.

On the entry of the Lecian carnival at the carnival site, Verdeflor added, is an internal arrangement between Veron and Lecian.

Felisa Abayate, Lecian carnival operator, claimed that she is supposed to establish her carnival facilities within the same 11,000-square-meter lot where the Veron carnival is also situated.

She complained, however, that the site given to her turns muddy whenever it rains and is not cemented like the one given to Veron.

"It's an internal conflict between the two carnival operators. We have a contract with Veron carnival but we do not know the internal arrangement they have made with Lecian carnival," Verdeflor said.

Abayate said she was not clearly informed of the spot she would be occupying during the entire duration of the MassKara festival.

Carnival goers are charged P10 per ride, except for the carousel which is at P15 per ride.

The public will have the chance to enjoy riding in a, mini calesa, moon rocket, flower cup, horror train, caterpillar, roller coaster, shooting range, among others.
