PALARONG Pambansa standout Nikki Therese Lim Servando teamed up with Gelita Castelo and claimed the 14-Under girls doubles championship of the 2006 Pohang Masskara Badminton Invitational Tournament held last weekend at the Pohang Badminton Center.
Servando, 13, also teamed up with the same partner to pocket the ladies doubles Class A trophy.
She finished the two-day competition settling for the silver medal in the Class A mixed doubles event where she teamed up with Ernesto Layao.
Josephine Lim Servando, Nikki's mother, said her daughter looks forward to her campaign in the forthcoming Negros Occidental Provincial Athletic Meet or Palarong Panlalawigan.
Nikki will be campaigning under the banner of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural & Educational Association (Nopsscea).
The young badminton ace led Trinity Christian School to the team badminton championship in this year's Nopsscea competitions held at the Riverside Medical Center court.
Servando hit the headlines recently when she became the youngest product endorser for Nature's Spring Mineral Water following her feat in the last Palarong Pambansa in Naga City.
It was there that she and partner Mary Joy Fernandez gifted the Western Visayas (Region VI) contingent the Palaro elementary girls doubles gold medal in the event.
Servando and Fernandez posted an exciting 15-7, 5-15, 15-11 victory over the Central Visayas pair of Irish Mae Ares and Jeralyn Tabuada in winning their Palaro gold medal.
