Another Negrense fan of Pacman dies
By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan

WHEN boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao fought against Mexican Erik "El Terrible" Morales in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA in January this year, Rolando Aspa Sr., 74, of Crossing Bliss, Manapla town, died from a cardiac arrest.

His sudden death was attributed to Pacquiao's victory over Morales.

On July 2, when Pacquiao fought Mexican boxer Oscar "Chololo" Larios at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, a Negrense also died of cardiac arrest.

His death was also believed to have been caused by too much excitement after Pacquiao won in a unanimous decision over Larios.

The victim was Cezar Madrona Jr. of Barangay Canroma, Pontevedra town.

He was found slumped at the sala of their house right after the Pacquiao-Larios battle.

Last Sunday, another Negrense also died of a heart attack after watching the Pacquiao-Morales encounter at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada,
USA.

This time, the victim was retired police officer Leopoldo Olarte of Moises Padilla town.

In an interview over ABS-CBN TV 4, the victim's wife, Letecia, said the fight was already over when her husband died.

"We're already out of the house and he was talking with some of his friends discussing about Pacquiao's victory when he suddenly collapsed and died," she added.

She, however, said she is not blaming Pacquiao for her husband's death as he has long been suffering from a heart disease prior to his death.

Letecia though wished that Pacquiao may know about her husband's death so the boxing champion may also know that there are a lot of Negrenses who loved him.
