If totally sold, this economic center being developed now by Dynamic Builders Incorporated, a known construction firm in Bacolod, will give their city about P1 billion in revenue.
The Cadiz City Economic Center (CCEC) will sprawl in a 36-hectare reclamation land area beside the Cadiz City Commercial Port.
It is also projected to complement with the city's fishing business.
For now, Escalante said the management of both Lopue's Department Stores and Gaisano in Bacolod had already signified its in intention branching out to Cadiz.
"We are now into negotiation and hopefully in the next few weeks, we can close the deal with Lopue's and Gaisano," said Escalante.
Aside from Lopue's and Gaisano, a lot of Cadiznons abroad also started to inquire about the CCEC, Escalante added.
The mayor also said the management of Weesam Express, known for fast ferry business also confirmed to open a Cadiz-Bantayan route in case the CCCP becomes operational by July this year.
The same with WGA, operator of SuperFerry that had also made reservation for its Cadiz-Manila route, Escalante said.
Aside from these, Escalante said the Lucio Tan Group of Companies also signified intention of putting up various investments at CCEC.
"That's why it is our desire now to invite the private sectors in our city to help us in promoting our city's tourism and investment opportunities not just here in the country but also in the entire world," he said.
