A total of P3,180 was collected from the activity.

The activity, which will also be conducted in other public markets, is to safeguard the welfare of the buying public and is regularly done pursuant to City Ordinance 54 or the Revenue Code of Bacolod City and Republic Act 7394 or the Consumers Act of the Philippines.

The inspection at the Sum-ag market was headed by Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda in coordination with the Revenue Inspection and Miscellaneous Services Office of the City Treasurer's Office headed by Donald Camon.

Sealing and testing of weighing scales is done every 6 months. Libertad, Central, Burgos and Villamonte satellite markets are slated next for another operation monitoring by the team.
