Friday, March 30, 2007 Depasucat admits being `underdog' against Kako By Nicolas C. Delfin
"I MAY be an underdog but qualification wise, my credentials will neutralized the power of machinery and logistics," said Third District Board Member Reynaldo Depasucat after he filed his Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) at the Provincial Commission on Election (Comelec) Office.
Depasucat is running for congressman in the third district against incumbent Representative Jose Carlos Lacson who has remained undefeated.
"I believe I would win through the people's awareness and my track records that are enough to speak of my capacity for the responsibility," Depasucat said.
He said he is confident that he has the support of the mayors from the 3rd district. "You will know my supporters, from the mayors down to the grassroots, during the election campaign," said Depasucat.
When asked where can he get the most votes, Depasucat said, "I believed that aside from my home place, the town of E.B. MAgalona, the neighboring towns and cities in the 3rd district will also support me," adding "I expect Victorias and Murcia to give me the most votes."
Time for change
"Its time for a change," Depasucat said. "Infrastructure and rural development, hospital modernization, education and poverty alleviation are some of the things that remain a problem in my district and at the same time had became my concerns."
Asked if his transfer from the Reporma Party to the Liberal Party will give him the edge during the campaign, he said, "I believe so because the party is always in accord with the rights and privileges of their members."
