Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Carapali's son shot in Bata By Nicolas C. Delfin
THE son of Carapali Lualhati was injured in a shooting incident in Purok Magbinuligay, Circumferential road in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City 3 p.m. Monday.
Lualhati, who is Stephen Paduano in real life, is the national commander of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army - Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB).
His 19-year-old son John Lenmark Paduano, was reportedly engaged in a drinking spree with his neighbor-friends when the incident happened, police
report said.
Paduano's group were inside the Lutong Bahay Refreshment along the highway in Purok Magbinuligay when an unidentified suspect outside of the eatery shot them without any provocation using a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, police report added.
Paduano was hit in the left thigh and upper left arm as he and his friends scampered for safety after the surprise attack.
Also hit by the attack was Paul Escosura, 25, Paduano's neighbor in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay Bata. He was hit by stray bullets in his upper right arm.
Shortly after, the suspect fled on foot while Paduano and Escosura were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) where they are presently confined.
Probers at Police Precinct 3 are yet to establish the motive for the attack.
They theorized, though, that Paduano has been in conflict with the suspect as he apparently appeared to be the latter's target.
