Collector held-up by 'problematic' friend

DESPERATE with the financial problems he is facing, a "confused" husband held up his friend in Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Police report revealed, Jory Gallosa, 23, and a tricycle dispatcher also in Mabini held up his friend Favie Yanson, a lending collector, in order to have money to pay for the hospital expenses of his wife who gave birth to their child at St. Anne Hospital also in Cadiz an hour before the incident.

Yanson, 24, is a resident of Sitio Talabaan, Barangay Zone 1 in Cadiz City.

He is a collector of Freewill Lending and Finance Corporation.

Cadiz City Police Chief Jefferson Descallar said, Yanson has just collected money from a client in Barangay Mabini when Galloso approached him and later held him up.

Galloso poked a knife at Yanson and forcibly took his collection amounting to P1,900, Descallar added.

The suspect immediately fled to nowhere leaving Yanson in the state of shock.

At 7 p.m., however, Gallosa surrendered to the police and turned over the remaining amount of P600.

He is now detained at Cadiz City Police Jail and will be charged of robbery today. (NCD)
