Sipalay native found dead Bata village
By Nicolas C. Delfin

A MAN, 26, was found dead inside a house in a construction site at Phase 3, Goldcrest Subdivision, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City at about 7 a.m. Thursday.

The victim was identified as Santiago Reyes, a native of Sipalay City.

According to report, Reyes was a house helper and was asked by the Silver Dragon Construction Company to temporarily watch from time-to-time its contruction materials stored in the said house.

Case investigator, SPO4 Carmelo Nermal from Police Station 3, said Reyes was discovered by his companion Federico Fino, already lifeless with blood flooding on the floor.

When checked, Reyes sustained multiple stab wounds in various parts of his body.

Police, however, also placed Fino under investigation.

He, however, said he slept in another stock house of Silver Dragon near SM City in Reclamation area Wednesday night.

He said he was only shocked that when he arrived in Goldcrest the following day, the door was closed and "when I pushed to open it, I saw Reyes lying dead."

Fino said he then went to a nearby store and bought load for his cellphone and contacted their boss before he reported the incident to the police.

The case is now investigated.
