The Mansilingan-based squad got 25 points from Christian Avanceña and 16 from Arman Pepino as SBS pounced Tangub Christian Academy, 72-57 Sunday. Only the Stallions of Coach Michael Lim on April 28 and Junior Stingers of Coach Troy Sarabia on May 5 stand on the way of Coach Christian Escote. All 3 bench tacticians are products of La Salle basketball program.

University of St. La Salle, meanwhile, continued to peak after its opening loss from Mansilingan Christian Academy (5-1) and had easy outing disposing Tangub Christian Academy, 96-59 and University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, 79-53 over the weekend. The defending champions are now running third at 3-1 slate as the UNO-Rians dropped to fifth at 2-3.

Don Bosco Technical Institute stayed at fourth (4-3) as it survived a young but dangerous Trinity Christian School, 79-73 as Jose Emmanuel Bilbao scored 14, Lorenzo Zaragoza III added 11 each. TCS got 18 from Ed Gomez, 14 from Chad Vincent Gensoli, 12 from Don Odango and 10 from Gem San Jose.

The Bosconians also trounced St. Rose of Lima School, 74-54 on Sunday as Angelo Celis hit 18, Denstell John Dullan 13, Darryl Albert Diamante 12. With the loss, SRLS is now at par with UNO-R at 2-3. Coach Joel Regodos' pair of3-point shooters, Francisco Esmilla and Johnnery Tad-y burned the hoops with 20 and 16, respectively.

The Stallions broke into the win column with a come-from-behind 90-82 triumph over TCS as Jude Baja delivered 23, Luigi Torre 20, Lynx Encabo 15 and Billy Pelagio 14. Coach Nene Lapore's charges led all throughout but lost its standouts on fouls and negate the 36-point output of Gomez, San Jose added 17, Chad Vincent Gensoli 12 and Don Odango 9.

TCA tries for its first win against UNO-R when they tangle at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. SBS eyes its 7th win over the Stallions at 9:30, followed by USLS and SRLS at 11:00. MCA and TCS battle at 12:30.

On Sunday, April 29, USLS takes on Stallions at 8:00, UNO-R and SRLS at 9:30, TCA and DBTI at 11:00 and USLS goes for its second game within 3 hours versus TCS at 12:30.
