E.B.MAGALONA -- Confident of his lead over his rival incumbent Mayor Alfonso Gamboa, David Albert Lacson sees no more hitches of becoming the next chief executive of EB Magalona town, a second class municipality in northern Negros.
Lacson, an incumbent vice mayor-turned-mayoralty candidate, is now leading in the partial unofficial canvassing of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in EB Magalona.
As of Tuesday night, reports said Lacson is leading about 300 votes over Gamboa.
Thus, Lacson Tuesday outlined his top priorities as soon as he assumes office on July 1.
"First of all, I will offer to the people of EB Magalona a new brand of Saravia where they can see tangible improvements that will truly change the entire landscape of the town," Lacson said.
With the “promised support” of Governor Joseph Marañon, Representative Jose Carlos "Kako" Lacson, among others, Lacson said, "I am ready to steer EB Magalona to greater heights where there are sure developments and progress."
Among his top priorities in EB Magalona are the acquisition of a brand new fire truck, rehabilitation and improvement of water system, repair of drainage system in the poblacion, repainting of the Municipal Hall, landscaping of the plaza and look for a place where to dump the garbage piled by Gamboa's administration at the Wilkinson Social Court.
Lacson also vowed to address problems in the upland barangays like the construction of farm-to-market roads.
"I have to look into the basic needs of people in Canlusong, Consing, San Isidro, Nanca, Cudangdang and Alacaygan. These areas really need a feasible farm-to-market road that will connect them up to the town proper," he said.
Alacaygan also needs a second level water system, he added.
In the coastal barangays, Lacson said his priority in Tomongtong is to construct a water breaker soon.
"We need to rush the construction of a water breaker in this area or else this barangay will vanish in the map of EB Magalona," he stressed.
Other coastal barangays will have to avail of livelihood projects that will enhance their living. Environmental protection will also be taken care of in the coastal barangays, he also vowed.
Lacson said, "I want to emphasize that I will serve Saraviahanons with all my heart and soul by way of ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of basic services to all of them."

Lacson, on the other hand, thanked all people who voted for him.
"To all the barangay captains, our leaders, the youth, sugar planters, ordinary people, among others, who trusted me, I would like to say thank you to all of you and I assure you that I am ready to serve our people," Lacson said.
Lacson, meanwhile, is one of the youngest scions of the Lacson clan in Negros who ventured into politics.
At the age of 24, Lacson started as councilor in EB Magalona in 2001.
