Saturday, August 04, 2007 Warrants of arrest for Ponteras, Bajelot out By Suzette T. Quingco
BACOLOD City Police Director Ronilo Quebrar said the warrant of arrest for former city police directors Vicente Ponteras and Jeorge Bajelot had already been received by the Warrant Section of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) last Thursday.
"The warrants of arrest will be served to the two former police officials of Bacolod City," Quebrar said Friday in a regular press conference at the BCPO.
"We immediately served the warrant of arrest for Ponteras but he was not there," Quebrar said.
"We must have to find them because they already have warrants," he said.
However Quebrar said that as far as Bajelot is concerned since he is allegedly in Oriental Negros it will be up for the PNP in that province to look for him.
"Since former police chief Bajelot is from Negros Oriental it will also have to be the police operatives from the area who will have to locate him," he said.
Meanwhile Quebrar said he received information regarding the arrest of Senior Inspector Bonifer Gotas in Navotas but the information turned out to be negative.
"When I received the information about Gotas I immediately called the Navotas PNP just to confirm the alleged arrest of the ex-cop but it turned out negative," Quebrar said.
Gotas was one of those included among the list of 10 former policemen allegedly involved in the Salabas-Suganob-Lomoljo murder case.
Furthermore the city police director encouraged the public to immediately inform the police if ever they know anything about the whereabouts of the so that the authorities can immediately expedite the possible apprehension of the former policemen in connection with their alleged involvement in the slay case of former Pahanocoy village chief Eleuterio "Dodong" Salabas, maritime instructor Ricardo Suganob and Maximo Lomoljo on Aug. 31, 2003.
