Friday, August 10, 2007 ‘Longest’ banana cue in Murcia By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan
IN A BID to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records, students and teachers at the Central Philippine Adventist College (CPAC) in Murcia town had made the longest banana cue with 1,944 meters long.
It was made of 50,000 saba bananas cooked in 15 sacks of brown sugar from Azucarera de La Carlota in La Carlota City.
Mayor Esteban Coscolluela said, "We are sending documentation of this longest bananacue we have so our town through CPAC will also be recognized in the whole country."
After which, Coscolluela said they will only wait for representative from Guiness to come to their town to verify their creation set for world record.
The longest banana cue making was done in consonance with this year's anniversary of CPAC as one of the A-1 institution in the Province of Negros Occidental.
Why banana cue? Coscolluela said, "Because CPAC is the number one producer of saba bananas in Murcia and probably in the province while sugar is also the main product of Negros Occidental.
