Monday, August 13, 2007 Int’l pianist to play for more trees in Negros
MULTI-awarded and internationally renowned Japanese artist Miwa Sato will stage a piano concert on August 21 at 6 in the evening at L’ Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City for the benefit of the reforestation activities in the Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto under the initiative of OISCA International and Negros Occidental Governor Joseph Marañon. The activity is initiated by Soroptimist International of Metro Bago led by its president Thelma Watanabe and Soroptimist International - Bacolod headed by its president Pacita Adeva in coordination with OISCA or the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement.
The piano performance will be shown in the She Factor aired over Sunshine Channel 13 hosted by Bacolod Councilor Batapa-Sigue during the Soroptimist Week from August 25 to 31.
Miwa Sato is a graduate of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in Japan and is presently finishing her post-graduate studies at the L’Ecole Normale De Musique in Paris, France under a very exclusive scholarship program to end by December this year.
She has performed in major cities in Europe, Japan and other Asian countries. Her repertoire will include Sonata KV.570, Allegro, Adagio and Allegretto of Mozart, Carnival Op.9 of Schumann, Musica Nara for piano of Tokuyama, Ballade op. 23 of Chopin and Moths, Sad Birds, Alborada del Gratioso in extract minor.
