Clear prov'l lands of squatters: vice guv to City
By Gil Alfredo B. Severino

TAKE two.

And it is not remote it would happen again if Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia won't heed the call of Acting Negros Occidental Governor Isidro Zayco for him to rid government land, especially those behind the Old Capitol Building, of squatter families.

Zayco sent a formal letter addressed to Leonardia informing him of the purpose of Capitol to develop the area.

The area was once a squatter's colony.

It was also Governor Joseph Marañon who was able to drive away the squatters to Cabugwason area in Mansilingan three years ago.

Lately however it was observed that squatters are beginning to put up houses on a portion of the lot located meters away from the Capitol building, the guard added.

Zayco asked Leonardia to reply within 15 days upon receipt of letter.
