A report from Negros Occidental Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office as of 3 p.m. Monday revealed that among the damaged houses were from La Carlota City, Pontevedra, San Enrique, Valladolid, Hinigaran and Isabela.
In Isabela town alone, heavy rains also brought about by “Hanna” forced 104 families to flee from their homes and moved to evacuation centers.
Isabela Municipal Information Officer Lorenza Madriago said the municipal government has served a total of 350 persons in four different evacuation centers of the town as of Monday.
Areas affected by the flashfloods in Isabela are Sitios Galo, Alegria and Nalipay in Barangay 5-Poblacion, Sitio Panaquiao in Barangay 1, Sitios Bakon and Su-ol in Barangay Guintubdan, Sitios Calabnisan, San Pedro and Guinbun-an in Barangay Rumirang.
Madrigao said Isabela Mayor Renato Malabor has ordered the emergency purchases of medicines, food, and beddings to aid evacuees and see to the hospitalization of those who are sick.
On the other hand, as of press time Monday night, PSWDO also said that those families who moved to various evacuation centers Sunday night had already returned to their houses.
Flood waters in the affected localities had subsided, PSWDO report added.
Meanwhile, the provincial government also extended assistance to the affected families.
A total of 35 bags of rice, 18 boxes of sardines, and 23 boxes of noodles were divided among the affected localities.
Some 187 bags of rice, 29 boxes of sardines, and 43 boxes of noodles from Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo Jr. were also given to the 200 affected families in Isabela.
At 2 p.m. Monday, the weather bureau spotted another tropical storm named “Ineng”.
Ineng, according to Pag-asa, is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 770 kilometers east of northern Luzon with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
It is forecasted to remain almost stationary, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Team (PDMT) in Negros Occidental.
