Murder suspect in Sagay yields
By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan

A 38-YEAR-OLD murder suspect in Sagay City surrendered to members of the breakaway Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) in northern Negros Tuesday.

Danilo Calo was tagged a suspect in the killing of a certain Kato Ducay, 42, at the public market in Sitio Sinalsagan, Barangay Puey, Sagay City on September 9.

Sagay City Police Chief William Señoron said that although they've already filed the murder charge against the suspect, the court in Sagay has not issued a warrant for his arrest.

He said that in case the RPA-ABB will turn over Calo to Negros Occidental Police Provincial office (NOPPO) Director Rosendo Franco on Thursday, they will let him sign a waiver that he shall be kept at the Sagay City Police Office for safekeeping until the warrant of arrest will be released by the court.

EB Magalona Mayor David Albert Lacson and Police Chief Samuel V. Mina Jr. also turned over a .38 caliber revolver to Franco at NOPPO Tuesday.

The gun, said Lacson and Mina, was recovered from the house of a certain Sanny Arnaiz in Jerusalem, Cadiz City.

Arnaiz is the uncle of Reynaldo Arnaiz, one of the three suspects who allegedly killed Armando Venus, a barangay councilman, in San Isidro, EB Magalona last week.

The two other suspects were Yam-Yam Lantaca and Ronnie Recaña.

The three were also arrested by a joint operation of members of the RPA-ABB, EBMagalona Police Office and Victorias Police Office somewhere in Cadiz City Wednesday night last week.

They are now detained in Victorias City jail.
