Capitol budget for '08: P1.1 billion

GOVERNOR Joseph Marañon presented to the Capitol press Thursday the summary of the 2008 Annual Budget with P1,127,882,636 total appropriation.

Of the total amount, P793,767,000 will be set aside for the General Fund (GF).

And of the total amount for (GF), P278,110,571 will go to Personal Services (PS); P159,422,529 to Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE); and P356,233,905 to non-office (NO).

A total of P334,115,631 was set aside for Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD).

Marañon said 10 percent of the budget will be intended for the salary increases of Capitol employees.

Full Magna Carta benefits have also been included wherein P32,201,055 will go to hazard pay; P16,455,600 for subsistence allowance; and P1,654,200 for laundry allowance also of Capitol employees.

While the Gender and Development (GAD) fund also gets P40,859,000 and another 20 percent has been allocated for the Provincial Development Fund (PDF) amounting to P200,061,671.

On the other hand, the Province also set aside P53,324,132 for calamity fund.
