Police authorities were then puzzled on the real cause of the blast.
National Capital Region Police Office Director Geary Barias said the cause of the blast was probably due to an LPG (Liquefied Petrolium Gas) tank that accidentally exploded.
But the latest police probe revealed that it was a bomb and not an LPG that exploded.
Talks in Coffee and barber shops anywhere in Bacolod then said that the Glorietta blast was allegedly meant to divert public attention on the current issue of P500,000 "cash gift" allegedly given by Malacañang to some congressmen, governors and mayors just to shelve the new impeachment case against President Arroyo.
Is this true? Hope not.
Because if this is true, then President Arroyo should know who among her men who did it.
Then she should also examine her conscience why there's a need to resort on this deadly act that killed and injured ordinary and innocent people.
Political issues can be solved in so many ways. But to do a diversionary yet dangerous act is another story.
Hope that public's suspicion about the Glorietta blast is not true else ordinary people will totally lose their respect for President Arroyo, and the latest tragedy it will be a potent material to be used in kicking out the country's Chief Executive from the Malacañang.
