Saturday, October 20, 2007 Delilan: Iggy and Cyber City By Erwin Ambo Delilan The Buzz
READING the press release from the Office of Representative Iggy Arroyo about Cyber City the other night, I can't help but to admire the solon.
Imagine that Cyber City, one of the famous call centers in the country now, is a US-based call center and has a branch in Clark Zone, Pampanga. Yet Iggy was able to create contact, and is bringing the hiring in his district especially in Binalbagan town on October 25.
And believe it or not, Iggy wants his qualified constituents - either college graduates or undergraduates to apply and be qualified as the next call center agents.
What a noble purpose Iggy has for his constituents as he also hopes that a lot from his district will be qualified soon.
Iggy is known for being a silent-type solon but performance wise, media people are always being amazed by his programs and projects aimed at uplifting the lives of his constituents.
Smart and Globe
The other day, I had two meetings with both the public relation officers of competing communication networks - Smart and Globe here in Bacolod City.
First, I met Miss NN of Smart at Kuppa Coffee Haus in Capitol Shopping Center at around 4 p.m.
Then at 7 p.m., I met Sir Jones Campos of Globe at Kaisee Restaurant along Lacson street.
Both brought good news not for me but for Bacolod.
Miss NN said that Smart is supporting Bacolod's MassKara Festival through various activities that will help this year's festivity more lively and colorful.
Among them is the holding of "Smart Day" on October 20, entitled "Smart presents Birada sa MassKara!"
And take note, Smart is bringing Luningning and Milagring who are both dancers in the famous "Wowowee" of ABS-CBN.
Smart is also holding concert by reggae band Reefer and Pinoy rock veterans Razorback.
Globe's Mr. Campos, on the other hand, informed the media that they will also be signing a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Gawad Kalinga (GK) in building a Globe-GK Farming Institute in Barangay Sum-ag.
Globe is donating P1 million for the construction of the livelihood center for this project.
Oh, what a good news that both Smart and Globe had brought to Bacolod.
Kudos to Smart and Globe for these noble endeavors they are into now in Bacolod.
