Country's shuttlers to 'flood' Bacolod for MassKara badminton tilt
By Jerome S. Galunan Jr.

TOP collegiate badminton players in the country are expected to flood Bacolod for the 2007 Pohang MassKara Badminton Invitational tomorrow at the Pohang Badminton Center.

The event that was earlier scheduled to unfold today was reset due to some entry problems.

According to Karl Michael Po, tournament director, they have already invited teams who are joining the upcoming University Games (UniGames) but were not able to confirm their participation as of Friday.

However, among the entries that have confirmed to compete in the men's, ladies', and mixed categories with levels: Open, A, B, C, D and E are those from Manila, Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod and neighboring cities and towns in Negros Occidental.

Based on its technical guidelines, the tournament will adopt the International Badminton Federation (IBF) rules for the current year for all matches.

Other matters and unforeseen incidents not covered by the rules will be decided by the organizing committee whose decision will be considered final.

The tournament committee shall have the power to reject an entry that may be against the interest of the tournament, sponsors or Pohang Badminton Center based on the stated guidelines.

It added that misrepresentation in any form and unruly behavior inside or outside of the court at any point in the event will be a ground for disqualification from the tournament and future disqualification to join in any affiliated tournament.
