A POLICE officer from Police Station 9 in Bacolod City Friday intercepted a man carrying more than a kilo of dried leaves of marijuana plants at Purok Lawayan, Barangay Banago also in this City.
SPO1 Rey Jereos said he was just walking along Purok Lawayan when he met a certain "Nognog" carrying a plastic bag.
And when he asked Nognog on what is inside the plastic bag, Nognog immediately threw it and ran away.
SPO1 Jereos picked up the plastic and opened it and was surprised to find out that it contains dried leaves of marijuana plants.
He then brought and surrendered the plastic bag with dried leaves of marijuana to Police Station 3 in Mandalagan area. When weighed, it was more than 1,200 grams.
Jereos said the marijuana leaves were supposed to be sold this MassKara time. Unfortunately, they were intercepted, he added.
Last Wednesday, police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) also arrested a 36-year-old woman for cultivating marijuana plants within their residence's compound at Ciocon Road, Barangay 26, Bacolod.
Suspect was identified as Maryvic de los Santos. Her 14-year-old son was also nabbed before for allegedly selling marijuana leaves and shabu at times.
Authorities then theorized that de los Santos might have been using her son as a courier of the prohibited substances.
De los Santos was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
