Wednesday, October 31, 2007 ABS-CBN's Amiga gets special citation from CMMA
THE inspiring story of an enterprising couple from Hinigaran found its way to the hearts of this year's Catholic Mass Media awards judges.
Making a living out of recycled rope, Julie and Nonito Villanueva were featured in Amiga, the Sunday program of ABS-CBN TV 4 Bacolod hosted by Honey Grace Patindol-Catalan and Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa.
Amiga is the only entry from the Regional Network Group that received a special citation from CMMA last October 25 as the Best Business Feature for TV alongside nine other awards received by ABS-CBN.
For Radio, dzMM Radyo Patrol bagged the CMMA for Best Drama Program, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Best News Program Alas Onse Y Media as well Best Business Program or Feature Radyo Negosyo.
Awards won for TV are Best Comedy Program: Goinb Bulilit, Best Entertainment Program: Sharon, Best Talk Show on ANC 21: Media in Focus, Best News Magazine: The Correspondents, and Best TV Special: Sa Kambas ng Lipunan. Also getting a special citation was Super Inggo for Best TV Drama Series/Program. The latter is set to open its new season SUPER INGGO 1.5 on November 3.
