'Alisbo Funeral Parlor is our home'
By Gil Alfredo B. Severino

PROCLAIMED barangay chief of Barangay 9 Gloria Alisbo is unfazed by the disqualification complaints filed by his nemesis but felt disrespected when defeated barangay chairman Gary Yanson did not even greeted her during their meeting at the Provincial Commission on Election (Comelec).

Alisbo filed her answer to the Comelec summon Tuesday.

Alisbo is saddened by the fact that Gary Yanson was her ijado (Godson), saying, "I knew his mother very well even before he was born," Alisbo said.

"I'm not hurt by his protest against me. I was proclaimed and will use the proclamation as one of my answers to the summon issued by Comelec," Alisbo added.

Alisbo explained that Yanson knew all along that the funeral parlor is our residence for 41 years and he saw it for himself that at the second floor, are rooms complete with household appliances and kitchen facilities.

"We stay at the funeral including our children for 24 hours. He knew and saw this," she further explained.

"Why is Gary Yanson's heart and face so heavy against me?" Alisbo asked.

"I was not even surprise when his lawyer was no less than the City Legal Officer Allan Zamora. I wonder how are they going to dispute over 125 votes ahead of him. This is not one or two votes but 125 votes," Alisbo stressed.

Alisbo also felt disrespected when people alluded to the coffins as her bed and proof that the funeral was not their residence.

Alisbo said, "Why, our coffins are medically treated therefore much cleaner than my critics home and even their beds. I know them all."

"Aren't we all going towards using a coffin sooner or later? The funeral parlor is a decent business and had helped so many people not just in Barangay 9 but the whole City Bacolod. Why are people mocking me for the coffins we sell?" she also added.

"If Gary Yanson would like to retain his position as barangay captain, he could have performed well. Mr Alisbo left him with a very clean barangay. Did he take care of our barangay?" Alisbo lamented

"Now let Comelec proclaim me again after this case is resolved," she added.
