Monday, November 05, 2007 Halloween Costumes parade at SM City successful
NOTWITHSTANDING the heavy downpour, hundreds of people trooped to SM Department Store lobby on October 31, 2007 to celebrate Halloween with their families and witnessed the staging of the first ever Halloween Costume Parade.
The very successful event saw a total of 477 kids, out of the more than 500 who registered, going up the stage in their favorite Superhero and Halloween character costume.
To add glitz and fanfare to the show, Tito Ivan the Clown performed his magic tricks on stage and exhibited his balloon twisting skills, much to the delight of the audience that included children from all ages and their families who came to cheer for their candidate.
All participants received loot bags while five entries received special awards chosen by the board of judges composed of Trainer par excellence Jocelyn Garbanzos-Justiniani, one of Bacolod’s topnotch Fashion Designers Mr. John-John Ditching, and SM Department Store Bacolod Assistant Branch Manager Ana Milagros Jeanjaquet.
Winners are: Best in Superhero Costume Zechariah Iziel, Best in Fantasy Costume Nina Lacson, Scariest Costume Justine Marie Almazora, Most Creative Jessie John Gila and Cutest Participant is six month-old Chloe Abijay.
Declared grand winner and went home with P10,000 gift certificates was Slave Rae Raden, who wowed the crowd and the audience with her witch-inspired costume, ramped the stage witch-style, complete with accessories that included witch eyes and booming witch voice.
Awarding prizes to the winners were SM Department Store Bacolod Assistant Branch Managers Rockie Gomez and Ana Jeanjaquet.
