Thursday, November 08, 2007 Mayor says city will rehabilitate hospital ER By Jerome S. Galunan Jr.
After the post-assessment conference conducted by the Department of Health on the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), some findings, remarks and recommendations were released.
And among those that DOH found out are the inadequacy of water supply and that the rooms are dark and not well ventilated rooms.
Inadequacy of wash area, inadequate medicines, supplies, and equipment at the emergency room were also noted.
After knowing the situation, Mayor Evelio Leonardia immediately promised to take on the repair, rehabilitation, and expansion of the hospital's ER.
Furthermore, the hospital wards also have crowded corridors filled with patients on folding beds and cartoons. The hospital's pharmacy, meanwhile, has no license and has a limited stock of medicines while its radiology and laboratory rooms are non-functional because of malfunctioning equipment.
On the other hand, the old hospital building has dilapidated walls, floors, and leaking ceilings with most of its comfort rooms are no longer functioning.
