Sunday, November 11, 2007 Reporter accuses City Hall exec of sexual harassment
A 24-year-old newshen of a regional daily in Bacolod is contemplating to file formal complaint of sexual harassment against Mayor Evelio Leonardia's political lieutenant.
In interview with dyEZ Aksyon Radyo, the complainant (name withheld) said that a certain Valentine Jamelo, executive assistant for Department Public Services (DPS), brought and attempted to rape her inside of a motel room in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod.
She said she trusted Jamelo and considered him as his father after her parents separated and are living with their own respective family since last year.
The lady accuser admitted being very close to Jamelo for quite a long time now because they belong to the same organization.
Unfortunately, she claimed later that Jamelo ruined her trust and respect.
Case was also referred to Mayor Evelio Leonardia for disciplinary action.
When called for reaction, Jamelo simply told the mayor that he has just arrived with the story and in effect, no one can defend his wife from the possible cases to be filed in court.
In defense, Jamelo confessed that he is under high dosage of cardiac medications.
Jamelo was rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU) because of a fatal heart attack last September 19, 2007 and stayed there for about a month.
"I am now very slow, speech slurred and terribly no sexual urge at all.
Studying all my medicines, it has all the ingredients to prevent me from performing sexual acts," Jamelo explained.
"How in the world can I ever bring her to a motel when I cannot even experience penile erection. And what if I suddenly die inside the motel? I'm still under a doctor's supervision," Jamelo added.
"Sex with a young lady is good but like her, it is too dangerous for me," he stressed.
