UNTIL now, I can't imagine that Councilors Homer Bais and Al Victor Espino will clash just because of the proposed 2008 City budget.
What a pity issue to quarrel for. But it's there already and the two have started burning bridges.
However, the way I understand of the present situation, there's really something more than the 2008 City budget that caused a crack on their political relationship.
Imagine that Homer and Al are known to be "political bestfriends".
And they are also parts of the newly-branded group "Voltes V" in the City Council.
Meaning their bonding is quite solid.
But suddenly, people were shocked when they both engaged in a verbal tussle and now into a deeper "fight".
Of course, a lot of their supporters wondered why Homer and Al tangled themselves over the budget issue.
Much more their colleagues in the City Council and the three others in the Voltes V - Councilors Greg Gasataya, Dindo Ramos and Vice Mayor Jude Sayson.
How about their critics? Well, that's one thing I want to know later.
But my fear is: what if the Homer-Al rift worsens?
What will be Homer's revelation against Al, and Al against Homer?
For sure, this will be an exciting moment soon. So let's wait for this.
And if Mayor Evelio Leonardia doesn't know how to pacify his men, time will come that both Homer and Al will open the "can of worms" not only against each other but the "can of worms" at the City Hall.
