Search for outstanding police is on

Cops is a career achievement award. It seeks to highlight the importance of fostering a cooperative effort between the police and community.

This is the reason behind the search looks for policemen and women who have actively solicited, mobilized, involved and organized the community to become fellow vanguards of the community.

"Every year, since 1993, a maximum of four commissioned officers, and six non-commissioned officers win the prestigious award," Dulay said.

The search is a joint undertaking of the Metrobank Foundation and Rotary Club of New Manila, implemented in partnership with PSBank and the Philippine National Police.

The nominees need to be Rotary Club members or depositors of Metrobank in order to join.

In addition, the nominee must secure clearances from the National Bureau of Investigation, Office of the Commission on Human Rights, and Office of the Ombudsman. The nominee must also be cleared from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Directorate for Intelligence, PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management, and the PNP Internal Affairs Service.
