Thursday, November 29, 2007 Franco on his way out of Negros By Erwin Ambo S. Delilan
ANY time now, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) Director Rosendo Franco will be taken out of the province, a source from Camp Crame in Manila told Sun.Star-Bacolod Wednesday night.
Franco, for sure, will be transferred from Negros Occidental before the year ends, the source said.
The source added that Governor Joseph Marañon was already given the option to choose Franco's replacement from a list of three names.
Police Regional Office 6 Director Wilfredo Dulay, Sr. was to provide the governor with this list.
Franco succeeded Sr. Supt. Charles Calima Jr., who became controversial because of his love life.
During Franco's early stint in Negros, his term was marred by an attack on the Silay City airport perpetrated by communist rebels sometime in August last year. Franco cannot be reached for comment as of press time Wednesday night.
