Editorial: Excellent Thailand

THIS year's Southeast Asian Games is said to be an excellent one with Thailand as host.

Believe it or not, Thailand really prepared for the region-wide spectacular sporting bonanza in the Southeast Asia aimed at showcasing their best of the best.

Much more, this year's Seag's opening coincided with the 80th birthday celebration of Thailand 's Monarch King, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on December 5.

Like the Philippine hosting two years ago, Thailand divided the games into three major venues.

The venues include Bangkok, Thailand 's capital city, Nakhom Ratchasima province and Pattaya province.

In Nakhom Ratchasima alone, almost all athletes and delegation officials from 10 other countries have nothing to say except the word "excellent."

In Nakhom, the Suranaree University of Technology hosts the athletes' village equipped with all the facilities and amenities needed from the athletes' and officials' quarters to biddings to foods and beverage to shuttle buses to security personnel to water and electricity to media center and computers to laundry services, among others.

All of these are truly excellent.

Even in landscaping, welcome arcs and streamers along the highways leading to Nakhom Ratchasima, everybody was "speechless" except in saying "wow".

Yes, this is Thailand 's best of the best that no one could match.

Facilities and amenities wise, they can really afford to host even the Olympic games in 2012.
