Yasa stressed that promoting gender equality and the empowerment of the women is a policy imperative of the municipal government of Moises Padilla in support of the very strong GAD agenda of the Philippine government.

The ordinance also stipulates that all government departments, offices and instrumentalities shall ensure that women and girls benefit equally and participate directly in the development programs and projects that seek to empower women.

The municipal government commits to protect the rights of its women, men and children by promoting their total health and nutrition and provide equal access and opportunities for their economic, social, political and spiritual development. The local government also encourages active community-based and multi-sector participation.

Mayor Francisco Nazareno will convene the council when the officers will be duly elected. (Press release)
