Security of Bacolaodiat Festival ready

THE funfares that the organizers of Bacolaodiat Festival are set to be unleashed beginning Thursday until Sunday have taken a further boast when Bacolod City Police Director Ronilo Quebrar announced that all the security support for the event is in place.

Post here your Valentine's Day greetings

Bacolaodiat is a special event designed by the City Government and the Bacolod Chinese community to make the celebration of Chinese New Year more meaningful and attractive to investors and tourists.

Quebrar said all the police stations especially the stations 1,2,3 and 4 have already been given full instructions what to do during the event.

"All the commanders especially those in and around the event's focal areas, Lacson street and Capitol Lagoon, have already put in place the details of their monitoring and security tasks," Quebrar said.

He added that they are now undertaking closer and sustained monitoring of various petty thieves, gangs, organized crime syndicates in the city and outside, who might take advantage of the event to pursue their criminal activities.

"Although there have been recent cases of holdups and robberies in the city, I am confident that these will not worsen the coming days, nor dampen the mood of this big event," he said.

Quebrar also confirmed that he has made all the necessary coordination with the event's organizers and the Bacolod Chinese community.

So far, I can say that in as far as security support operations for the event are concerned, we are assured of a peaceful and successful celebration throughout the week, Quebrar ended.(KGO)
