Post here your Valentine's Day greetings
Veteran midfielder Robert Cañedo tallied six goals while West Negros College teammate Jaypee Gardose and Michael Pacite of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos chipped in with 2 apiece for the lopsided win. Wesnecans Ryan Lerio, Mark Ferrer, Gino Palomo, Jalor Soriano, Ruffy Llorente and Jayme Poderoso added one goal each to complete the rout.
Last year's losing finalist, Iloilo, posted a 6-0 win over Antique last Monday. The Negrenses, bannered by NOPSSCEA reigning titlist West Negros College and mentored by former RP team mainstay Norman Fegidero, Jr., assisted by Carlo Torbela and Noah Sajo, are scheduled to take on perennial rival Iloilo today at 7:00 a.m. eyeing a sweep that would enable them to retain the regional tertiary crown they have held since 2001.
A win here would enable the NOPSSCEA squad to again represent the region in this year's national PRISAA meet and a chance to defend the national football title they won in Iloilo during last year's national PRISAA meet.
The NOPSSCEA squad is composed of keepers Earl Tomodos and Kenneth Dolloso, Lemuel Unabia, Francisco Doniesa, Francisco Colarte, Carlo Tacusalme, Jaypee Gardoso, Gino Palomo, Mark Ferrer, Ryan Lerio, Ruffy Llorente, Jayme Poderoso, Robert Cañedo, and Jalor Soriano from WNC; and, Michael Pacite, and Samson Sare from UNO-R.
Team manager is WNC committee on sports management and development chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin.
Football, swimming and athletics are being contested in Iloilo while the rest of the events in the WVPRISAA calendar are being staged in Kalibo, Aklan, host of this year's regional PRISAA conclave. For more Philippine news, visit Sun.Star Bacolod.
