VALENTINE'S date will always be remembered as the major streets of Bacolod will be filled by the boom, blast and blare of Sunshine channel 14 motorcade.
From music to issues, news to infos, all these have been hurdled by this leading cable channel in Bacolod, the Sunshine Channel, Channel 14 in Bacolod's local television dial. It has an insignia of a rainbow and a rainbow, very symbolic of what it would like to become and what will it be at the end.
Although "Somewhere over the rainbow" may not be the theme song chosen for the occasion but the "sunshine" has a magical touch of turning the cool sky moisture into a beautiful rainbow.
For this what Sunshine Channel 14 is all about "Sunshine" and "rainbow" insignia are very symbolic of life, its dynamism and a wide variety of program settings.
Today, at its infancy, Sunshine Channel 14 will turn two years old and already, Bacolod City has felt its dent in upholding freedom of expression and a commitment to educate its clientele with updated pieces of information.
Sunshine Channel 14 is manned by blocktimers coming from different orientations, political persuasions and a thousand and one opinions.
In a statement provided by Sunshine Channel's marketing officer Joy Villones, this cable outfit has "intense broadcasting and coverage, meeting the expectations of 31,000 viewers all over Bacolod City."
As it celebrates the two-year experience in the cable market, Sunshine Channel according to Villones is "a dream truly coming close to reality because of its desired goal to be better among the best local cable channel."
"Our basis is the mere fact the we are being recognized by the viewers," Villones said.
Much is yet to be hurdled, but Sunshine Channel tandem leadership veteran Primo Esleyer and Amado Villacarlos, president and managing director respectively, are both ready to take up the challenges of the tasks ahead of them.
