THE entire Province of Negros Occidental mourns the demise of Governor Joseph Marañon.
Marañon, who suffered from cirrhosis of the liver for years, has expired with family members and political allies beside him at their home in Sta. Clara Subdivision, Bacolod City at around 7 p.m., Thursday.

City council okays P4.5M for dump trucks' rental
TO AUGMENT the need of the city for more dump trucks to haul 250 to 300 tons per day of garbage, the Bacolod City Council passed on Wednesday a resolution for the immediate appropriation of P4.5 million supplemental budget for the rental of five dump trucks for at least three months.

'Salisi' gang suspect, live-in partner fall
THE most wanted suspect in a series of "high robberies" committed by what local authorities described as "Salisi" gang, had fallen into police hands Thursday evening in a joint raid operation of the Bacolod Police Station 3 and the Talisay City Police in the suspect's house in Barangay Bobog, Talisay.
