Thursday, April 24, 2008 Punta Bulata sets May tourism splurge
THE Zayco trio, headed by father Bomber and sons Abe and Thomas, yesterday announced the annual three-day Punta Bulata beach bash 2008 from May 2, 2008.
Punta Bulata is a pioneering double A beach resort in the municipality of Cauayan, down south of Negros Occidental, where it offers a wide array of amenities its website described as "a secluded resort with a private sanctuary of your own."
Managed by Abraham Zayco, the three-day beach bash would be loaded with all sorts of water sports as well as entertainment from the province and Manila-based bands and entertainers.
Among the water sports listed are jet skiing, beach soccer, windsurfing, kayaking, skim boarding, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Entertainment includes fashion and bikini fashion shows, Nicolo Yulo fashion collections, sunset sessions, grind party by the pool all by DJ Douglas Dollentes and Chris Yanson, party with DJ Leandro Zayco and the Patikeros and food.
Meanwhile, Punta Bulata patriarch Bomber Zayco hopes to see the day when the municipality of Cauayan would highlight such kind of beach party tourism by augmenting private marketing efforts to access domestic and world markets.
Zayco is also optimistic that with the construction of the Kabankalan airport, the south of Negros would be more accessible, especially to tourists, boosting its downstream industries and thus bringing in investors and employment opportunities for the town's residents.
Zayco believed there is much to be done in introducing the southern part of Negros as a new tourist destination.
Thomas Zayco, on the other hand, said that from the influx of South Korean visitors alone, Southern Negros could benefit if the market could be captured.
The Zayco trio stressed that the public need not worry about cost, thinking that Punta Bulata Beach was made for the high-end market.
They said Punta Bulata is segmented for the A, B, C and D markets. (Gil Alfredo Severino)
